Home > Healing Homes > Henan Cleft Healing Home It is with thanks to our wonderful and generous supporters that our vision to open a 2nd Cleft Healing Home in Henan Province has become reality! It opened on June 1st 2009 - Children's Day. As with our Anhui Cleft Healing Home, the Henan Home is devoted to caring exclusively for vulnerable babies born with cleft lip and palate. Being born with a cleft lip and palate is more than a cosmetic birth defect; for many children in orphanages, it can be life-threatening. We have learned that the key to helping these children is to give them the one-on-one attention they need. We work together with social welfare institutions to offer these little ones the best possible chance at health and healing. Click here for a look inside HCHH The Program HCHH has 8 beds in a cozy, home-like environment. We accept babies with cleft lip and palate who are in need of intensive care, taking in infants from any orphanage that needs our specialized cleft care. The babies receive loving care and rich formula from cleft bottles that make it easier for them to eat. Our nannies care for only two to three babies each and have been trained to feed these children so they can gain the weight they need to be healthy and receive surgery. LWB partners with a local Hospital to provide the children's surgeries and care for them post-op until they are healed. The children stay in the Cleft Healing Home for approximately five months. Once fully healed, they return to their hometown, usually to foster care, with the best chance possible of finding an adoptive family. With your help, the lives of 20 to 30 children each year can be changed We Need Your Help In order to fully fund the care the children receive in the Cleft Healing Home, we need several sponsors for each child. Each sponsor will receive a monthly update and photos of their sponsored child. $50 per month $25 per month partnership sponsor General Henan Cleft Healing Home Donation We accept both on-going monthly donations and one-time donations to support our Cleft Healing Home.
