Home > Education > Education Locations > Huainan, Anhui In the fall of 2007, LWB began a Believe in Me school in the Huainan, Social Welfare Institute. The program consists of five distinct components: early development preschool, preschool, kindergarten preparation, tutoring, and music. The early development preschool and preschool, patterned after the Montessori method and with our trained teaching staff, encourages the children to grow and learn with a hands-on approach to learning through play and materials. Children with mild special needs who are unable to attend the local public school also benefit from this constructive environment. Designed to prepare the children for kindergarten, the kindergarten-prep class incorporates a more traditional curriculum focusing on Chinese, English, math, and pinyin. The students proudly recite poems and songs they have learned, often in 2 languages. As with both the preschool and kindergarten prep programs, the students wait eagerly each morning for their teachers to arrive and start the new school day. The Believe In Me program prepares and motivates the children emotionally, physically, socially, and scholastically. The tutoring and homework assistance benefits all the students who attend because of the preparation provided by this unique program. We are fortunate that our program manager has a degree in music education and shares her talent and passion with all the students. Through the universal learning tool of music, the children are discovering a love for music and particularly performing for and with their classmates.
